Path Loss and Blockage Modeling for Vehicle to Vehicle Channel above 6 GHz

With the development of 5th generation mobile communication new radio (5G NR) technology, the channel models need to be studied on radio frequencies above 6 GHz. The channel models of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) have been completely specified below 6 GHz. Thus, this paper mainly focuses on the channel models of V2V communications above 6 GHz. The path loss model is analyzed with the propagation conditions, which are line-of-sight (LOS) and Non-line-of-sight (NLOS). In addition, a statistical model of blockage loss is proposed in this paper. Furthermore, Packet Reception Ratio of V2V links is comprehensively analyzed in urban grid and highway cases. The proposed channel models eventually provide a reference for future V2V channel models and the standard on support of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) services above 6 GHz.
