Design of Bluetooth DOS Attacks Detection and Defense Mechanism

Based on analysis of the principle about Bluetooth DOS attacks and security deficiencies of specifications, channel quality detection scheme is designed to detect the DOS attacks outside the piconets, device feature detection scheme is designed to detect the DOS attacks inside the piconets, and the defense mechanism to the attacks is implemented in Bluetooth link manage layer using the LMP data unit designed in this paper. Experiment results demonstrate that the scheme can defend system from DOS attacks preferably.
