Measurement on Transformer Windings by Impact Test

The paper presents a basic overview of measuring methods and diagnostics on the power transformers and illustrating measurement on transformer winding by impact test. The impact test is often used for analyzing of the insulation between coil threads or themselves of windings and for detection of the attenuated winding sections of transformers. This method enables to detect early states of the winding faults.
