A Joint Estimation and Independent Compensation Scheme for Transmitter and Receiver IQ imbalance in Zero-IF transceivers

In this paper, we study the IQ imbalance of Zero-IF transceivers, and introduce a scheme to compensate the TX and RX end separately by using only one set of training sequence. First, we analyze the IQ imbalance at the transmitting and receiving channel of the transceiver, and propose a method of using the amplitude and phase joint parameters to compensate both ends separately. Then, through the establishment of the transceiver system model, the estimation of the joint parameters is completed based on maximum likelihood estimation(MLE). The simulation results show that the estimation accuracy of the parameters does not decrease with the deterioration of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR), and the image rejection ratios(IRR) at both ends can be greatly improved.
