A Shoulder Surfing Resistant Technique for Login on Mobile Devices

Use of mobile devices in our day-to-day lives is rapidly increasing with each passing day. Today many services such as online banking, e-mail, online shopping and many more are delivered to users on their mobile devices. All these services carry sensitive information and since people access these services even in public places, there is high probability of shoulder surfing attacks. Therefore, there is a dire need to develop enhanced authentication schemes for such devices. In this paper, we have proposed a challenge-response based authentication scheme that is to be used in conjunction with earphones on a mobile device. We have shown that our scheme is effective against shoulder surfing attacks.
