PDEL: A New Language Aimed to Overcome Regular Restrictions in RAMS Modeling And Forecasting

This paper shows the main restrictions associated to current methods to forecast reliability, availability, maintainability and, in general, performance, of engineered technological systems. The concept of elucidation is defined as evolutive awareness of technological systems, and it is explained how refocusing the modeling task as one based on elucidation, may provide higher effectiveness in producing accurate performance estimates. A comparison of PDEL features against traditional methods are shown, and it is explicitly presented where the value of PDEL resides.
