A Numerical Simulation Method for Ploughing Effect of Three-body Abrasion

Wear of moving parts is often one of the main reasons leading to the failure of the whole mechanical system. In aviation industry, a large number of functional components, such as hydraulic pumps, hydraulic valves, bearings and so on, are commonly born to the mode of failure-wear, which directly reduces the reliability and life of aircraft and other aviation equipment. In engineering applications, machinery is usually lubricated, which makes the wear form is mainly the three-body abrasion caused by the contaminant particles in the lubricating medium between the moving parts. Therefore, the simulation of three-body abrasion, the quantitative calculation and accurate prediction of wear volume are urgent to be studied.
