Adaptive Output Feedback Control and Adaptive Design of Statical PFC for Discrete-Time MIMO systems

In this paper, an adaptive output feedback control system design scheme with an adaptive parallel feedforward compensator (PFC) for discrete-time multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems is proposed. In the proposed method, the parameters of a statical PFC are adaptively adjusted so as to render the augmented system with an adaptive PFC almost strictly positive real (ASPR). Therefore, even if the property of the controlled system changes during operation, the proposed adaptive output feedback control system can maintain the stability of the control system. The stability of the obtained adaptive control system is analyzed theoretically and the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed through numerical simulations on a combustion control of a diesel engine.
