LIBRA: A cloud-based platform for production and load aggregation

Italy has undertaken the reform of the ancillary services market, starting an experimental phase of pilot projects. In this context, the figure of the aggregator, who group a plurality of consumption and/or production units to participate in organized energy markets, is emerging. In order to gain flexibility, aggregators need to control a big amount of production and/or consumption units and, to this aim, automatic management tools are needed. Therefore, Softeco proposes the LIBRA platform, that will be described here. LIBRA has been designed for the management of operational processes of aggregators and balancing service providers, with an IOT (Internet Of Things) oriented approach, offering the storage of field measurements, communication with the Transmission System Operator (TSO), modulation of consumption/production units, bidding on electric market and accounting.
