Automated 3D Scanner for Electromagnetic Radiation Assessment near the WPT Active Part

The proposed paper describes the development of a high resolution measurement system for the electromagnetic radiations emitted by the active element of a wireless power transmitter, WPT. This system consists of a spatial manipulator for the 3D-fieldsensor and an advanced board for its signal acquisition and processing, both managed by the microcontroller and computer applications. The main goal of this contribution is to experimentally validate the spatial field distribution in order to optimize the location of the emitter-receiver WPT coils. The resultant values were obtained around a fixed frequency, identical to the nominal frequency of a commercial WPT, approx. 150 kHz. The used flexible structure has advantages in terms of accurate radiation mapping in the vicinity of the active element, while also contributing to time reducing for the measurement process.
