A MMIC Ultra-Low Noise Amplifier for S-Band Application

A MMIC low noise amplifier for S-band application with ultra-low noise figure is proposed in this paper. Low noise amplifier is one of the most important components for a receiver in the wireless communication system. Adding the improved capacitance in the LNA circuit design and based on 0.25-um enhancement-mode (E-mode) pseudomorphic high electron-mobility transistor (pHEMT) process, the proposed LNA achieves 0.2dB noise figure (NF) for S-band while the minimum NF=0.12dB occurs at 2.25GHz.
