Prototype Excavator With Pneumatic System Controlled Using Android Device

This research is aimed to design and create a prototype excavator pneumatic system with android smart phone control system. The prototype excavator system made in this research utilizes Arduino Uno ATmega 328 as its microcontroller, while the Bluetooth module device is used as a connecting medium between the android device with the arduino to move the cylinder. The mechanical device represent the two main parts of the device: based and the arm section, six cylinders used to move each boom, arm, and bucket section, while the swing motion is done by using a DC motor. App Inventor is used to create an application on android, while arduino program is used to embed the program into the microcontroller. The working principle of the whole system is by using an android device connected with Bluetooth module to give signal to the microcontroller, then microcontroller will activate the relay and relay activate solenoid and end the process by moving the cylinder. Calculation of cylinder force obtained is 54,95 N when cylinder move forward and 46,158 when cylinder move backward.
