Multifractal Analysis of the 10.7cm daily Solar radio flux data

This paper has used a very well-known approach of non-linear analysis for studying the complexity present within the 10.7cm Solar radio flux time series. Using MFDFA, different multifractal parameters such as the scaling exponent, generalized Hurst exponents, and the singularity spectrum were obtained. The result revealed that the radio flux time series is non-linear as well as multifractal in nature. For understanding the source of multifractality present within the signal, the generalized Hurst exponent of the considered Solar radio flux time series were compared with the randomized time series obtained using IAAFT method. The result indicated that the multifractality present within the Solar radio flux signal is primarily due to fat-tailed probability density functions.
