Abstract:

Barium neodymium titanate material was manufactured by using solid-state reaction technique. Two types of microstrip fed antennas using half-split cylindrical resonators of barium neodymium titanate are proposed. New methods for coupling modes are investigated in order to increase the impedance bandwidth. For the 2.4 GHz band antenna, a 174 MHz impedance bandwidth was obtained, which is a very good value for a resonator of dielectric constant greater than 84. Due to the high dielectric constant, the volume of the used resonator is less than a sixth of previously reported dielectric resonator, which makes the antennas more compact and cost-effective.
