Modeling and Simulation of Angle Tracking Based on Antenna Pattern Under Multipath Effect

Taking a single-channel monopulse system as an example, the mathematical model of angular error signal generation, modulation and demodulation is deduced from the formation mechanism of sum and difference signal after the signal enters the antenna feed. Based on the measured sum and difference beam pattern data of parabolic antenna, an antenna pattern modeling method is proposed to build a simulation platform of angle error demodulation based on PCM/FM telemetry signal. Then the whole process of angle error demodulation under the condition of multipath effect is simulated and analyzed. It is found that serious multipath interference will cause the polarity of angle error voltage to deflect. Through further analysis, the regularity conclusion of multipath effect on angle error voltage is drawn, and it is verified and analyzed by outfield test.
