Approximation of Action Potential in Populations of Cardiomyocyte Electrophysiology Models

Cardiomyocytes' electrophysiology is usually simulated by models based on ordinary differential equations. The variation of parameters in these models generates a population of models and a parameter space, where each vector corresponds to one model solution. In this paper, we propose a method for an approximation of the cardiomyocyte action potential in the parameter space. The proposed method has been applied to four populations of models. According to the obtained results, the method can provide the action potential under a steady-state condition without real calculation of ordinary differential equations. However, the approximation basis essentially depends on parameter variation ranges, which leads to some restrictions in the applications of the approach.
