Influence of the Neuro-electrostimulation on Galvanic Skin Response Signals: Case-Study

The galvanic skin response (GSR) is caused by the activity of the sympathetic nervous system and the sweat glands. In the present work, the influence of neuro-electrostimulation of the peripheral nervous system for practically healthy people was studied. The signal processing of the GSR, obtained during the research, was carried out according to a special algorithm that allows the detection of electrodermal activity (EDA) events. Processing the GSR signal demonstrated a significant increase in the EDA when the neuro-electrostimulation was applied. This effect was observed on both the first and the third day of the study.
