Design and Implementation of Reactive Distributed Internet of Things Platform based on Actor Model

To meet the real-time requirement and data fast processing has become a significant challenge in the Internet of Things platform. In an attempt to design and implement new reactive paradigm, this paper presents an innovative Actor model to design and implement IoT platform using Akka Actor, Akka Stream, Akka Cluster, Akka-MQTT Connector, Kafka, MQTT, Angular technologies to process high speed and super mass monitoring data from IoT devices in real-tine. In this IoT platform system the actor model based on Akka with functional reactive approach was used in both the platform back-end and the front-end to meet the performance requirement of IoT platform. Future research will focus on the practice validation of this work by implementing this IoT platform into a big data system and artificial intelligence application.
