Optimization of logistics to support the African's development

Logistics has become a key of the economic development and growth, indeed transportation, port infrastructure, roads, motorways, rail and logistic platforms have a determining role for the development of the territory. In developing countries and particularly in Africa, logistics cost remains high and affect negatively the economic growth. Transport cost for most African landlocked countries is three to four times higher than in most developed countries and vary from 15 to 20 percent of imports costs (1). Despite certain weaknesses, Africa is emerging as new partner in globalization. International logistics operators are optimistic in Africa's development potential and its participation in the Global supply chain. This article will deepen the reflection on the development of the transport and logistics in Africa, by identifying the key factors leading to optimize the logistics network in order to support the development in Africa.
