Performances Evaluation of Permanent Magnet Varnier Machines with Dual Stator Topologies

Permanent magnet Vernier (PMVM) machines are interesting to use in different types of applications. Because of high torque at low speed, this machine is highly recommended for use in electrical traction. The purpose of this research is to identify the most appropriate dual stator structure with the same rotor and different type of stator model in order to provide the best performances. In this paper there were analyzed the magnetization of the cores, flux lines distribution, variation of electromagnetic torque in time, cogging torque and the variation of currents phase in time. In order to keep the idea of the design, the number of the stator and rotor poles were maintained the same.
