Bond Graph Modelling and Sliding Mode Control of Convective Drying of Thin Layer Apple

In this work, we have developed a mathematical model of the convective drying process of natural products, showing the main phenomena observed during drying, that are heat and mass transfers. This phenomenon was examined by applying the pseudo bond graph methodology. Experimental drying tests were make on apple slices and a comparison between experimental and theoretical results was performed to validate the developed model. Also a sliding mode control applied to this drying process has been tested by simulations.
