Analysis of Solar Cell Temperature Models used in Solar Photovoltaic Simulating Softwares

Solar photovoltaic module's efficiency and output power depend strongly on operating cell temperature. Various cell temperature models have been proposed and are widely used in simulating softwares to predict real-life operation and performance characteristics of solar PV systems. However, selection of the appropriate solar PV simulating software that closely predicts the real-life performance of solar systems is challenging due to diverse cell temperature models deployed. In this paper, models used in solar PV simulating softwares are analysed and evaluated for their distinctions in predicting solar cell temperature to provide an in-depth consideration for a solar PV simulating software based on proximity of solar cell temperature prediction.
