Hybrid BA/ATS for Economic Dispatch Problem

The hybrid algorithm which is developed from hybrid bee algorithm (BA) and tabu search (TS) is proposed to improve the efficiency. This hybrid algorithm is named hybrid BA/ATS (adaptive tabu search). The aim of this developing algorithm is to determine better solution of economic dispatch (ED) problem by comparing with hybrid BA/TS. Two test system are used in this paper. First is 6 unit generations system. Second is 10 unit generations system. In addition, the generation constraints are used to limit the power of generation for non-violent operation. Test results from both test system indicate that the proposed algorithm can determine better operating costs than results from hybrid BA/TS.
