Solution of Probabilistic Economic Dispatch in Presence of Solar Power

In this paper, the solar units are incorporated in economic dispatch problems in order to minimize the overall generating cost of electric power. The valve point loading of generators is considered here. Dragonfly algorithm based on 2m point estimation method is applied here in order to show the effect of uncertainties of solar power. The dragonfly algorithm is based on the static and dynamic swarming behaviour of various dragonflies in nature. The 2m point estimation method is considered in order to calculate the means and standard deviations. Two test cases are considered here in order to show the feasibility and computational efficiency of proposed method as compared to other well-known optimization techniques.
