VR+BIM: Perception and Design Optimization of Highway

Virtual reality provides a new means for sensing and displaying Building Information Modeling (BIM) from two-dimension to three-dimension. This work uses virtual reality technology to connect BIM models with human perception based on the modeling and integration of BIM models. A variety of virtual reality methods are provided to perceive the highway BIM, such as holographic imaging, panoramic publishing, 3D printing, virtual driving, virtual flight, virtual cycling, virtual walking, augmented reality construction model delivery, etc. Virtual reality realizes people-oriented evaluation and optimization for highway project design, and improves the scientific nature of highway planning and design.
