Solar Photo Voltaic Based Power Supply for a Cyber Physical System

The use of dedicated Direct Current (DC) systems using Photo Voltaic (PV) and batteries are gaining importance. To conserve water in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham a Cyber Physical System (CPS) is present in the existing water distribution system at various locations. This paper aims to propose a dedicated DC network with PV panels and batteries to power this CPS network. Three different configurations of DC networks are presented and the same is simulated in MATLAB with measured irradiance and temperature. The voltage variation at each load point, the energy losses and cost of implementations of three configurations are compared and the best possible dedicated DC design is identified.
