Recent Challenges of Solar Cell Technologies; A Critical Analysis

The rising demand of energy ascertains the necessity of finding alternate sources of energy. As most of the fossils will exhaust shortly, the hunger to explore renewable resources is getting worse. Under these circumstances, the solar energy has recognized as a promising future for sustainable and clean energy. However, the solar cells have not been deployed as much as forecasted due to cost and efficiency concerns. This paper inquisitively investigates the solar cells, belonging to all the three generations, in respect of their recent challenges that limits the development of highly efficient and low-cost cells. By overwhelming these issues, the maximum potential of the solar cells could be obtained.
