Design of Encoder Simulator to Augment Data Acquisition for 4 – Dimensional Rotary Table in Thermal Vacuum Chamber

Incremental optical encoder, responsible for tracking stepper motor’s rotational increment, is widely used in 4 -dimensional rotary tables of thermal vacuum chambers. This paper aims at development of a program using KEIL software making rotational measurement unforced. The main objective includes incorporating flexibilities of easy handling, managing and storing of different combinations of inputs for simulating the package. The requirement for minimal hardware is satisfied by implementation of microcontroller, AT89852. Inclusion of LCD and Push Button matrix interfacing in the formulation of program assists in reduction of procedural steps allowing better simulation of the system. The program developed for encoder simulator supports testing and verification of encoder reader’s event detection capabilities required for precise rotary table’s position calculation it finds application in monitoring speed of motors by controlling frequency, electric drives, 4– dimensional motion of cameras in space and send letter in messages.
