Flexibility in Indian Grid Operation with High Penetration of Grid-Connected Renewable Energy

This paper describes about the requirement vis-à-vis possible achievability of flexibility in the Indian grid operation in general with the massive development of variable renewable energy sources and consequent high level of penetration of the same into the grid. Indian experience in this context with problems faced with the addition of such type of generation into the system, the measures taken to cope up with the situation and possible course of action contemplated for the future have been vividly described.
