An Energetic, Environmental and Economic Performance Analysis of a Hot Water Production of a Hotel

Hotel buildings are responsible for a significant energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the tourism sector and are thus likely to gain the greatest benefits from improved energy efficiency. in this study, a detailed analysis of two different technologies of hot water production and their combinations with solar collectors was carried out for a hotel in Tangier. Indeed, this research focuses on the calculation of primary energy consumption for each alternative for the production of Domestic Hot Water. Taking into consideration the category of the hotel, the average consumption of hot water per person per room and the solar thermal system analysis, were discussed on the basis of the technical characteristics and their energy efficiency. Moreover, the environmental assessment of each technology studied was evaluated, focusing mainly on CO2 emissions. The purpose of this article is to present the result of the global evaluation of the solar installation for two different auxiliary systems and it contribution to the improvement of the energy and environmental performance of the hotel building. A detailed economic study of these systems was evaluated based on the life cycle cost method, as well as calculations of protitability and return on investment of solar systems.
