Abstract:

In this research, we discuss pitch angle control by braking as a response when an autonomous vehicle rides on a convex road surface. Disturbance of the pitch angle causes deterioration of the ride comfort, the steering response and brake performance. Focusing on braking, we control to prevent pitch angle shaking by using the brake to perform appropriate deceleration at the moment of riding on convex road surface. The pitch angle is predicted for proper braking. We constructed a learning system using random forest and Dynamics Learning Tree in order to predict pitch angle with high accuracy. In the experiment, it was possible to control the vehicle so that the pitch angle does not exceed the threshold by braking based on the predicted pitch angle.
