Average Information based Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio

Wireless Communication resources are power and bandwidth. Hence conservation and proper utilization of spectrum is needed. Spectrum sensing is important since the microwave band is already crowded with many applications. In this paper, a spectrum sensing strategy based on the average information is proposed. The average information is Entropy as per statistical theory of communication. The average information with and without the presence of primary users are calculated using MATLAB.
