Serpentine Optical Phased Array Silicon Photonic Aperture Tile with Two-Dimensional Wavelength Beam Steering

We propose and demonstrate a passive microphotonic phased-array aperture that wavelength-steers a beam in 2-D, showing 14,000 resolvable spots. It is tileable into larger apertures with fill factor above 50%, an improvement of 16× over previous work.
