Effects of Dietary Infographics and Cognitive Styles on Learners Information Processing

With an era of the information explosion, it was difficult to catch up the huge amount of information in our life. However, infographic is a good way to integrate and simplify information. This study indicated that the construction of infographic design can facilitate students to learn the nutrition knowledge better than that of traditional design on webpage mode. However, there were no significant differences for students between verbal and visual cognitive style. Through two-way analysis of variance on the interaction between different learning styles and different cognitive preferences, it found that the system designed by infographic that fits students learning preference can generate better learning effect on their comprehension of nutrition knowledge and willingness to use the system. In summary, infographics can be used as a leaning tool to help students obtain nutrition knowledge.
