On Factorization of Semiprimes and Related Applications through Pythagorean Tuples

A semiprime is a positive integer which is a product of two primes. In this paper we demonstrate the crucial role of Catalan numbers in semiprime factorization. Besides obtaining some useful results, we also establish how the Pythagorean tuples play a vital part in avoiding data theft in the process of placing proper encryption and authentication mechanism for transmitting and receiving messages in communication networks. We also raise some open problems.
