Experimental Results For The First Magnetization Curve Obtained Using An Original Device

This paper proposes a novel device for the assessment of isotropic ferromagnetic materials' B-H relationship. The magnetic circuit of this device contains the sample, two coils and a median yoke. The measuring procedure consists in the determination of the currents through the two coils such that the magnetic flux in the median yoke is null. Unlike other measurement procedures, the magnetic field in the proposed device is neither mandatory uniform nor time variable. The linear piecewise approximation of the constitutive relationship is obtained and its precision depends on the step size chosen for the imposed dc currents. Experimental results are also provided.
