Triple Droop Control Parametric Variation in Autonomous Microgrid

The principle roles of the microgrid control structure for operation in autonomous modes are to supply active power and reactive power from energy source to loads. Droop control technique is used for PQ mode converter control when converters are operated in grid connected mode and for VF mode when converters are operated in islanded mode. Thus performance of droop control methods in islanded mode is analysed by using VF control mode. The conventional droop control method which can used for control of active power and reactive power have some limitations such as reactive power in islanded operating mode is not share accurately, slow active power dynamics and this method is unable to increase the system stability. Also there is large deviation of frequency. The modified triple droop method improves the drawbacks of this conventional droop method. First one is the, angle droop of triple droop helps to enhance the dynamics of active power regulation. Second is the, system stability gets improved and frequency deviation gets decreased. Third is the, because of the modified voltage droop reactive power regulation accuracy gets increased especially for operation in grid connected mode which is helpful for economic dispatch of microgrid. This paper contributes for parametric variation of droop coefficients for triple droop in terms of frequency and angle for increasing the system stability and decreasing the frequency deviation for active power control. Analysis of triple droop control with different values of droop coefficients and their comparison has been shown.
