Analysis of Electronic Ticketing System Acceptance Using an Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT)

The electronic ticketing system (e-ticket) is different from the conventional ones which propose offline-based activities. The e-ticket system uses cards to provide convenience while minimizing the incoming queue to the entrance area. However, people have difficulties using such new system and bringing eticket system not optimally working due to the people prefer paying with cash. Therefore, there is a need to measure the extent to which the e-ticket system appropriately received by visitors. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) is used and consisting of needed hypotheses and variables: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, price value, behavioral intention, and use behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach method using SmartPLS. The results have shown what factors have significant effects on the acceptance of the use of the e-ticket system. Based on the findings, it is found that effort expectancy becomes the most significant factor toward behavioral intention. Further investigation is needed for a better determination.
