The Estimation of Rotors Parameters Based on Micro-Doppler Characteristics

A large number of weapons targets contain rotating structures in modern warfare. These rotating parts have a huge impact on their radar scattering characteristics. Since the velocity of the rotating parts differs from that of weapon, its electromagnetic scattering characteristics usually contains Doppler phenomenon, and is accompanied by Doppler frequency shift. In this paper, taking the helicopter rotor as example, the parameters of rotor target such as the number, size and rotation speed of the rotors are discussed through the RCS time-frequency spectrum.¹
