Hybrid MPPT Solar-Wind Electric Vehicle With Automatic Battery Switching

The Solar Wind Hybrid Electric Vehicle aims to develop an energy efficient, self-sustaining, wide-ranging eco-friendly vehicle having a feature of an automatic switching program to effectively utilize the power produced by the solar panel. It utilizes both solar using hill-climbing maximum power point tracking and wind energy to charge and power the battery thus effectively reducing the consumption of fossil fuel and in turn, decreasing carbon dioxide emission. The vehicle can carry a maximum of 4 passengers including the driver, but the designed seat was made to accommodate 1 passenger and a driver: The vehicle's approximate gross weight is 350 kg., having a maximum average speed of 22 kph. Its speed ranges from 15 to 22 kph depending on the load, the course of the road and the inclination of the road. The usage of two battery banks and its automatic switching program will lengthen the span of the run of the vehicle. The switching device will decide which battery shall be charged and which shall be used.
