Study of TLD-100’s Repeatability in Low Dose Irradiation

The present individual radiation monitoring system is trying to make monitoring devices more accurate and precise. This study is concerned about the repeatability of Thermoluminescence Dosimeter-100 (TLD-100) at low dose irradiation. Ten TLD-100s were collected from Health Physics Division, Atomic Energy Centre, Bangladesh and irradiated at different low dose of radiation namely 46.82 μGy, 93.82 μGy, 140.73 μGy, 187.64 μGy and 234.1 μGy with Sr90/Y90 Irradiator and read in Harshaw 4500 TLD Manual Reader. Following the reading from ten consecutive cycle repeatability for TLD-100 were observed with standard deviation for each dose. Measured standard deviation was 2.19 μSv , 2.14 μSv, 2.21 μSv , 1.81 μSv and 2.24 μSv respectively. The results reflect the TL (Thermoluminescence) performance of TLD-100 for low dose detection.
