Microstructure of vinyl chloride-maleic anhydride copolymer in condensed state

Macromolecules of equimolar native vinyl chloride-maleic anhydride copolymer consist of the statistical sequence of repeat units of comonomers (/spl sim/67 mol.%) and their enol tautomers (/spl sim/33 mol.%). The mechanism of copolymerization of vinyl chloride and maleic anhydride includes polyaddition of weak molecular complexes in ground state or in the diradical resonance structure.
