Analysis of the Effectiveness of Fire Station Locations Using GIS-model

This paper presents the model of fire stations locations in the Central part of Yangon. The model was created by Agent-based technology, discrete events, and AnyLogic tools and uses a Geographic Information System (GIS) maps. The developed model is intended for finding the optimal location of fire stations and the distribution of fire vehicles between them. The locations of the fire stations were defined in a database and this let AnyLogic allocate the fire stations onto GIS map. The optimality of decision is determined by means of several criteria functions. The analysis of the fire stations' operations allowed determining the two most appropriate functions. The first criterion estimates the awaiting time for the request that is the time between the fire alarm signal and the arrival of a fire vehicle at the fire placement. The second criterion estimates the effectiveness of fire vehicles utilization. Both criteria are implemented in this model.
