Properties of photorefractive index perturbations in periodically poled photovoltaic media

Summary form only given. We present a model of the steady-state electric space-charge field in periodically poled photovoltaic media for beam propagation perpendicular to the polar axis. We show theoretically that periodically poled ferroelectric crystals are resistant to photorefractive beam degradation when the beam size is significantly larger that the period of domain reversal.
