EMI Analysis and Optimal Design Technique of Servo Drive Board for Signal Stability

In this paper, optimized electromagnetic interference (EMI) design for the signal stability of the servo drive board is proposed. With the development of the electronics industry, the performance of the servo drive has increased, and the design tolerance range is reduced and high precision is required. Because of the high power with miniaturization, there are many noises, and unexpected phenomena along with signal processing occur on the circuit. Therefore, developers have difficulty in manufacture, so this paper suggests the EMI considered guideline for the developers. The electrical characteristics of the servo drive are analyzed, and control/power board are separated for the reliable driver. After that, block placement, component placement, and notes are described that are robust to noise depending on the characteristics of each board. This guideline is expected to be used in the development of various motor drives in the future.
