Solar energy transition in Malaysia through implementation of PV and PVT technologies

Renewable energy (RE) is an important source of sustainable energy and hence has great worth to promote it. The renewable energy has been introduced since the 8th Malaysia plan as a fifth key element of the fuel policy. The goal of 5% renewable energy supply of the total energy was set. However, the achievement of the 5% renewable goal has failed. Therefore, to promote renewable energy among people of Malaysia, the aim is to propose a project to work in depth. This project is designed to investigate a case study which will perform the installation and examination of the working condition of the PV (photovoltaic) & PVT (photovoltaic thermal) in different locations of peninsular Malaysia. Opinion and experience of end users will be collected for analysis of public awareness and acceptability. The proposed work will benefit the local people of Malaysia, policymakers as well as the industry and research.
