Abstract:
Electric Vehicles (EVs) are getting very popular in recent years. However, integrating large number of EVs into distribution system may violate system constraints. Adding even a few EV units in an isolated microgrid can cause problems such as excessive line loading and voltage drop. This may eventually lead to instability issues. This paper deals with these problems and proposes an EV charging scheme for an isolated grid without violating system constraints. Results show the significance of voltage stability index, voltage profile and State of Charge (SoC) on determining the capacity of charging station across each bus of the network.
