Application of Wireless Power Transfer in Totally Implantable Heart Pump

The top challenges for widespread application of ventricular assist device are infections of the driveline and pump thrombosis of the device. This project makes use of the powerful multiphysics computational simulation to improve the design of the left ventricular assist devices, by eliminating the driveline and streamlining the pump interior blood contacting surfaces. The design optimization involves balancing the wireless power transfer efficiency, implant miniaturization, and the regulatory compliance.
