Relationship Between The Set Temperature and Power Consumption of Air Conditioners

In this paper, we investigated the relationship between the set temperature and the power consumption of the air conditioner. In recent years, the amount of distributed power supply using renewable energy has been increasing. However, since the amount of power generation is unstable due to the weather, the reserve capacity of the power plant at the peak of the electricity demand is of concern. Therefore, a peak cut is expected as an option to control the electricity demand. A demand response is one of the means for performing peak cut. In order to accomplish this, it is necessary to accurately understand characteristics of the consumer's electricity consumption. Therefore, this paper investigated the relationship between the set temperature of the air conditioner and the power consumption in Aichi Institute Technology. As a result, it was possible to compare the required time to stabilize the air conditioner and the power consumption against the change amount of the set temperature.
