Dual-Polarized Left Handed Leaky Wave Antenna Using Grounded Coplanar Transmission Line

In this paper, we propose a leaky-wave dual-polarized sector antenna using a grounded coplanar transmission line adding left handed element as a small cell antenna for mobile communications such as LTE-Advanced. With this technology, it is possible to configure an antenna element that is shared by dual-polarized waves with a thin dielectric substrate. It is also possible to achieve high gain and suppression of cross-polarized waves by arranging a plurality of left handed transmission lines.
